Sakinah Mawaddah is a modest-first matrimonial platform serving Muslims across the United States. The name draws from Qur'an 30:21 — tranquility (sakinah) and loving-kindness (mawaddah) between spouses.
We are built only for the goal of nikah. No swiping, no flirty profiles, no pressure. Profiles are reviewed and messaging is monitored to keep the community respectful. Here's the journey, step by step.

Create a modest profile
Sign up with your email or Google. Add a respectful photo, your city, age, and a short bio describing your deen, family, and what you're seeking in a spouse.

Automatic photo safety check
Every uploaded profile photo is automatically screened for inappropriate content before it's saved. If a photo doesn't meet our modest content guidelines, you'll be asked to choose another — keeping the community respectful by default.

Filter by age, city, and state. No swiping, no flirty banter, no fake accounts.

Message anyone whose profile resonates. Conversations are private to the two of you. Involve your family whenever you're ready.

Slow Match mode
Switch on Slow Match in your profile and you'll receive only 3 hand-curated matches per day instead of an endless feed. Built for sincere searching, not infinite scrolling.
Activity-based matching
Add the halal activities you love — Quran study, hiking, calligraphy, volunteering — and we surface people who share them. Easier first family meetings, real common ground.
Private post-meeting feedback
After a meeting (whether it leads to nikah or not), leave a private review on respect, family involvement, and whether you'd recommend the person. Aggregate signals shape trust scores and protect the community — your individual entries stay confidential.
On-the-fly translations
Read profiles, messages, and pages in Arabic, Malay, Hindi, Tagalog, and English — translated live, so language is never a barrier to meeting your match.
Account security
For your protection, all members are required to change their password every 6 months. You'll see a reminder at the top of the app when it's time, and you can update it anytime under Settings → Password.
We also automatically sign you out after 15 minutes of inactivity.
